What is a breast augmentation?
A breast augmentation is a popular cosmetic procedure aimed at enhancing the size and shape of the breasts using a prosthesis or lipofilling. These techniques can also be applied together, which we call a hybrid breast augmentation . After the procedure, the breasts will have a fuller appearance, which contributes to a harmonious body proportion.

Volume
The volume of a breast implant is expressed in "CC". A volume of 150 to 200 cc corresponds to approximately a 1 to 1.5 cup size. In our practice, most breast augmentations are performed with implants ranging from 180 to 320 cc; additionally, there is an increasing preference for smaller, more naturally appearing results.

Profile
The profile of a breast implant refers to the amount of projection. This means how far the breasts are positioned "forward" after the procedure. The amount of projection depends on the width of the implant. There are various options available.

Body structure
The selection of the implant volume is significantly influenced by your body structure and the desired proportions after the procedure. Our aim is to achieve results that are natural and harmonious. We avoid using implants that are not in proportion to your body; the prostheses must match your natural shapes and should not lead to complications in the future.

Position
Breast implants can be placed both in front of and behind the breast muscle, and there is also the option of Dual Plane, which offers a combination of both methods. The majority of implants are placed in front of the muscle to avoid complications that may arise with a placement behind the muscle. With the advent of lipofilling, there is a trend towards placing implants more in front of the muscle.

Type
In our practice, we no longer distinguish between anatomical, teardrop, and round prostheses. We opt for ergonomic prostheses that adapt to the natural shape of the breast: round when you lie down and teardrop when you stand. These prostheses are of high quality and biocompatible.

Lipofilling
The lipofilling technique is revolutionising breast augmentation. With lipofilling, the results are not only more natural but also longer-lasting. It allows us to accentuate and enhance specific areas of the breast. Furthermore, implants can now also be placed in front of the muscle thanks to this technique.

Breast enlargement methods
A breast enlargement is intended to optimise the volume and shape of the breasts. This can be achieved in various ways, depending on your preferences and the suitability of the chosen method.
A breast implant provides immediate extra volume and enhances the projection of the breast. Thanks to the latest generation of implants, these can, in most cases, be placed in front of the chest muscle. This has the advantage of largely avoiding the disadvantages of an implant placed behind the muscle, such as pain, visible muscle movements, displacement of the implant, and a gradual widening of the décolletage.
Lipofilling is particularly suitable for adding smaller volumes. In this technique, the body's own fat is used to shape the breast. For larger volume adjustments, a second session may sometimes be necessary. An important advantage of lipofilling is that it allows for targeted treatment of specific areas, such as the lower pole of the breast or the décolletage, for a refined and natural result.
